The Rotary Club of Hinsdale held its annual Rotary Run Charity Class Sunday morning. This year, which marks the 30th year of the run, the event raised more than $100,000. To date, more than $3 million has been given back to various local charities. More than 800 runners participated in the classic's six events - from a 10K to a Mutt Strutt. The Hinsdale Public Library celebrated the Mid-Autumn Festival outdoors this year. More than 150 people celebrated what is also referred to as the Moon Festival by making lanterns, tasting authentic dishes and more. For the first time the Hinsdale and Clarendon Hills Middle School bands combined to play to a full house at The Venue in Aurora in June. The Hinsdale Public Library is well known for creative programming. And their ice cream making event July 15 was a big hit. Hinsdale's Alexander Brown was given the job of throwing out the first pitch to open up the Queen of the Hills 10U Round Robin Tournament in Clarendon Hills June 9. The 18th annual Walk the Walk for Mental Health, which benefits The Counseling Center at The Community House, was held Sunday morning. Under blue skies and bright sunshine, the colors of the rainbow were thrown about at several color stations set up along the one mile route. More than 3,000 people participated in the annual Walk for Wellness House Sunday morning.
