Merle B. "Smitty" Smith Jr., 93, of Burr Ridge, passed away June 12, 2023, from a fluke accident.

He is survived by his children, Chris (Tom) Cratin, Leslie Bloom, David (Anita) Smith and Michele (Jim) Meloy; his seven grandchildren; and his nine great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held at 10 a.m. today, June 22, at Adolf Funeral Home, 7000 S. Madison St., Willowbrook.

Interment is at Clarendon Hills Cemetery in Darien.
