    Jill Hughes Newcom, 75, of Hinsdale, passed away Jan. 17, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer. Jill was a kind and loving soul who will be missed and remembered by the many lives she touched. She is survived by her husband, Steven G. But getting a grip on the sudden mid-season departure of the entire Hinsdale Central varsity girls basketball coaching staff was a challenge - and, team members say, an opportunity.
