Forgery

Soltwisch Plumbing, 422 Chestnut St., reported that someone intercepted a check from the mail, altering the name of the payee and amount. The incident occurred on March 4 and was reported March 20.

Identity theft

Someone used a victim’s identity to make fraudulent bank transactions on March 13. The incident was reported on March 20.

Retail theft

Kobe M. Graves, 18, 124 2nd St., Downers Grove, was arrested March 21 for retail theft after surveillance video allegedly showed the suspect taking a purse valued at $800 from Sterling Jewelry & Pawn, 244 E Ogden Ave., on March 19. Graves was cited and released to appear in court.

Deceptive practice

A customer at Fuller’s Service Center, 102 W. Chicago Ave., reported use of a bad check to pay for services Feb. 14. The incident was reported March 22.

Domestic battery arrest

A 55-year-old woman from Western Springs was arrested for domestic battery after an incident at 10:34 a.m. March 23. She was charged and transported to Cook County jail.

DUI arrest

Vincent J. Nitti, 32, 360 W. Hubbard St., Chicago, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and improper lane use after a traffic stop at 12:03 a.m. March 24 in the 600 block of West Ogden Avenue. Nitti was charged and released to appear in court.

Criminal trespass arrest

Jesus Enrique Guillen-Paredes, 24, 1106 N. Mason Ave., Chicago, was arrested for criminal trespass to residence after home surveillance video showed him briefly entering a home on the 400 block of S. Oak Street to deliver a package at 7:50 p.m. March 20. He was charged and released to appear in court.
