Dennis A. Calvanese

Dennis A. Calvanese, 85, of Naples, Fla., formerly of Oak Brook, died Jan. 19, 2024.

Dennis attended DePaul University for two years, when his professors encouraged him to pursue his MBA from the University of Chicago. He then embarked on a distinguished international career within the pharmaceutical information industry, rising to the position of chief operating officer at IMS Health and developing the first online pharmaceutical database, Midas.

Dennis’s sharp wit and sarcasm was always a source of great entertainment. Above all Dennis loved his wife and family.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sandra J. Calvanese, nee Nowak; his children, Michelle (Jim) Schroeder, Paxton Calvanese, Bartholomew (Margaret) Calvanese and Amy (Michael) Mangin; his grandchildren, Steven, Renee, Kevin, Nora and Sophie; and his sister, Candice (Joe) Bartucci.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Melody Hartmann and Dorena (Dan) Brescia.

Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 2, at Sullivan Funeral Home, 60 S. Grant St., Hinsdale. Interment is private.
