STATE SCHOLARS AT NAZARETH

Five Hinsdale students at Nazareth Academy in LaGrange Park were named Illinois State Scholars.

Ava Coghill, Matea Hewitt, Francesca De Fina Hillman, John Hughes and Faith Mouw, who earned places among the list of honorees, represent approximately the top 10 percent of high school seniors from across the state.

They were selected for this honor based on their SAT and/or ACT test scores and sixth semester class rank.

CENTRAL TEACHER LEADS WORKSHOP

Arpan Chokshi, a social studies teacher at Hinsdale Central and instructional innovation coach for District 86, led a workshop titled “AI in Schools: Shifting Pedagogy, Practices & Policies” that was hosted by the Illinois Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development on Sept. 18. During the workshop, Chokshi helped education professionals examine the challenges of AI and explore the ways it can be used to enhance how students learn.

Several Hinsdale Central students were recognized during the St. Ignatius Model UN XXII conference Nov. 4.

HINSDALEAN EARNS HIS DOCTORATE

Jake Wertz of Hinsdale earned his doctorate in sociology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in August 2023.

COMPANY AMONG BEST EMPLOYERS

UChicago Medicine AdventHealth was recognized in Forbes’ presigious “America’s Best Employers by State” rankings.
