Hinsdale Village Board

Among other business at their Dec. 14 meeting, trustees:

• voted 5-0 to approve a 2023 tax levy of $15.6 million, including the library’s portion of $3,67 million, and $3.2 million in abatements for debt that will be paid back with revenue other than property taxes, leaving a net village levy of $8.7 million

• unanimously adopted the 2024 annual budget, which includes $21.2 million in general fund expenses, $3.9 million in capital expenses and $7.3 million in infrastructure projects

• voted 5-0 to approve a 3.5 percent salary increase for Kathleen Gargano to bring her annual pay to $225,432 a year

• voted to extend the village’s contract with the DuPage Water Commission by 40 years and to extend the water commission’s contract with the city of Chicago

• added five properties to the Historically Significant Structures List: 232 S. Clay, 202 E. Fourth, 306 N. Garfield, 134 S. Park and 408 S. Washington

• approved seasonal pay rates for 2024 for the Hinsdale Community Pool of $23 an hour for an aquatics coordinator, $18 an hour for pool manager, $15.50-$16 an hour for lifeguards and $14 an hour for cashiers. Public services workers will earn $15 to $22 an hour and interns $15 to $18 an hour.
