Marion Scott

Marion Scott, nee Kickert, 99, of Willowbrook, passed away on Nov. 1, 2023. after a full and blessed life.

She was born in 1923 to Richard and Bessie Kickert in South Holland.

In addition to her role as wife and mother, Marion was a dedicated career woman, well ahead of her time. She worked 41 years at Standard T Chemical Co., holding several different positions, but her favorite position was purchasing agent. She loved all things finance and trading stock tips with the other employees. Following her retirement, she relished in her new role of grandmother and loved to babysit her only granddaughter, Rachel. She loved her small, tight-knit family and enjoyed celebrating every birthday, anniversary and holiday together.

Marion was equally as dedicated to animals and provided a loving home to countless cats and dogs throughout her life. One of her favorite places to vacation was Siesta Key, Fla., where she and John could walk the beach together. Marion's love language was gift giving; it was her total joy to gift something beautiful, unique and timeless and because of that her loved ones have countless reminders of her generosity. Even as she approached 100, she surprised people with her age and youthful appearance.

Marion and John made Christ Church of Oak Brook their church home for many years. She was a quiet but strong woman of faith.

Marion and John had just celebrated their 77th wedding anniversary in October.

She is survived by her 102-year-old husband, John; her daughter, Gayle (Philip) Perzek of Hinsdale; and her granddaughter, Rachel (Daniel) Egan.
