A Hinsdale man arrested in April in Minnesota pled guilty last month to the felony charge of solicitation of a child or believed to be a child through electronic communication to engage in sexual conduct, according to Justin Lysen, special assistant to the Stearns County Attorney.
Derrick D. Willman, 56, of 502 N. Garfield Ave. at the time of his arrest, was charged with three other felonies: attempted criminal sexual conduct, third degree with a victim age 14-15; attempted criminal sexual conduct, fourth degree with a victim age 14-15; and engaging in electronic communication relating to or describing sexual conduct with a child, The Hinsdalean reported in April.
Willman had been communicating in an online chatroom with investigator Celeste Walz with the Central Minnesota Human Trafficking Task Force, who was posing as a 14-year-old girl, according to the compliant. Investigators know the chatroom as a place where teens are frequently solicited to engage in sexual conduct. He was arrested after arriving at a Minneapolis address where Walz had agreed to meet him.
Willman and his wife sold their home in Hinsdale in September.
He will be sentenced Dec. 11.
