Newenka DuMont, 61, of Hinsdale passed away peacefully May 4, 2023, in Hinsdale with her husband, Yannis Arvanitis, and children, Zeph and Ethan, at her side. Her parents, Stephen and Barbara, and her sisters, Kevelyn Belden and Mischy, were able to be with her the night before to share their love and say goodbye.

Newenka was a friend, loving wife and life partner, outstanding mother, strong advocate and leader for gifted education, and general instigator of mirth and adventure. She will be sorely missed by all the family and friends who had the privilege of knowing her.

Sullivan Funeral Home in Hinsdale handled the arrangements.
