Rose Marie Occhipinti, née Rosalia Schimmenti, 90, a resident of Hinsdale, passed away April 8, 2023, at Oakbrook Healthcare Centre in Oak Brook.
Rose was born in 1933 in New York City, where she met her husband of 61 years, Salvatore Occhipinti. Together they raised their family in New York and California. Rose was a dedicated wife and mother. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, painting and traveling with her husband. After Salvatore's passing, she moved to Illinois.
Rose was preceded in death by her husband, Salvatore; and her two sisters, Ann Huller and Connie Celentano.
Rose is survived by her daughters, Kathryn Occhipinti of Hinsdale and Susan Kotsovolos; and her grandchildren Corrine (Scott Hughes) Callaway, Jared Callaway, Christian Kotsovolos, Teresa Kotsovolos and Joshua Kotsovolos.
Interment will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, April 29, at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery in Tarrytown, New York.
