Letter - Firsthand look at police work yields high praise

I recently had the privilege of riding with Hinsdale police officers on an evening shift. I observed a high level of professionalism and supervisory competence. Officers displayed patience and restraint in difficult situations, efficient use of technology, excellent coordination of mutual operations involving other police departments and an enthusiasm and dedication to duty. Policing is a difficult and dangerous profession. Next time you see a squad give them a waive, next time you see an officer, thank them for their service. — Joseph Craig, Hinsdale
