Police report on safety effort

The Hinsdale Police Department has released the results of its “Click It or Ticket” and “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” Thanksgiving traffic safety campaign Nov. 18-28,

During the campaign, police made three arrests for driving under the influence, one arrest for no valid license and one warrant arrest, while issuing 30 citations for speeding and 11 more for other violations to the Illinois Vehicle Code.

“Our officers patrol year-round to keep motorists buckled up and impaired drivers off the roads,” said Deputy Chief Thomas Lillie. “We do this to save lives and ensure all of us make it home safely at the end of the day.”

The Thanksgiving enforcement effort was made possible by federal traffic safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation and is part of the statewide “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” and “Click It or Ticket” campaigns to remind motorists across Illinois to buckle up and drive sober to reduce highway fatalities.
