Meeting roundup

Hinsdale Village Board

Among other business at their Tuesday meeting, trustees:

• discussed parking changes at several locations in the village. Daily rates of $3 to $3.50 will be offered in the village lot, Highlands station, West Hinsdale and Chestnut. Commuter permits will no longer be limited to Hinsdale residents in main commuter lot. These and other changes will be up for a vote at the board’s Oct. 4 meeting.

• expressed support for Mouse Motors to open a McLaren Dealership at 2 Salt Creek Lane. The company would need a map amendment and variance for a parking deficiency to open the dealership. McLaren cars start at $250,000.

“I think our brand fits the demographics,” Mike Marzano said, noting the company looked at other suburbs as well. “Hinsdale makes the most sense.”

The company will need to come back to the village board with a formal proposal and then obtain approval from the plan commission and the village board.

• reviewed a contract with McFarlane Douglass and Companies for holiday lighting and decorating at a cost of $32,535. The contract will be voted on Oct. 4.
