Angela K. Donnelly, 55, of Hinsdale passed away March 8, 2022, surrounded by her family.
She was born in 1966 in Chicago to Alta and John Pickett.
Angela was a Chicago native and lived there until 1980, before trading city life for the open country air of Oldfield, Mo., with her parents. Eventually, Angela returned to Brookfield in 1983 and graduated from Riverside-Brookfield High School in 1984. Angela was extremely good with numbers and finance, affording her many job opportunities that led her to a career in the transportation industry, where she met her future husband, Brian Donnelly, a longtime Hinsdale resident.
After the fun whirlwind of the 1980s, Angela and Brian married in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, on Oct. 29, 1990.
They returned to their home in Hinsdale, where they started their family and resided for 34 years. Together, they founded Donnelly Transportation in 1994, which is still operating in Willowbrook.
Angela was an amazing cook who loved to read and educate herself, travel and garden. She loved all kinds of music and animals, especially dogs, which she had many of throughout her life.
Angela will be greatly missed by all those she strived to make a positive impact on during her life.
Visitation is from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 14, at Sullivan Funeral Home, 60 S Grant St., Hinsdale.
A celebration of life service will follow at 3 p.m. at the funeral home.
