Katherine C. Morrissey, nee Carroll, 97, of Indian Head Park, passed away peacefully at her home Dec. 7, 2021, surrounded by family.

She was a teacher for the Chicago Public Schools for more than 20 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James J .; her son, John Paul; her siblings, Frances and Ramona Carroll; and her parents, Paul and Ramona Carroll.

She is survived by her children, Joe (Mark) of Hinsdale, Jamie (Dr. Edwin) Zarling (former long-time residents of Hinsdale), Daniel (Mary Beth), Michael (Nancy), Thomas (Carole), Mary Kay (John) Gilger, Patrick and Raymond (Lisa); her 23 grandchildren, including Sam and Frank of Hinsdale; Bridget, Beth, Brad, Brendan and Becky (formerly of Hinsdale); and her 12 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 18, at Christ the King Church, 9235 S. Hamilton Ave, Chicago.

A funeral Mass will follow at the church at 11 a.m.

Interment is at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Alsip.
