Hinsdale police released the following reports Nov. 10.
License violations
• Kenya Scott, 20, 624 W. 60th St., Chicago, was arrested for driving without a license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, lane violations and other traffic offenses at 10:03 p.m. Nov. 1 in the 100 block of East Ogden Avenue. She was charged and released to appear in court.
• Semaj Rogers, 28, 3915 212th Place, Matteson, was arrested for driving with a suspended or revoked license, lane violations and other traffic offenses at 1:37 a.m. Nov. 7 in the 100 block of East Ogden Avenue. Police found more than 400 pieces of mail in the trunk. Rogers was charged and released to appear in court.
Suspect wanted on warrant
Nour Efein, 24, 10352 Broadmoore Drive, Palos Hills, was arrested on a warrant out of Darien at 1:43 p.m. Nov. 3 in the 10 block of South Washington Street after police responded to a call about a suspicious auto and ran the owner through LEADS. The suspect was taken to the Darien Police Department.
Would-be thieves hit dealership
Four subjects wearing ski masks pulled up to a service door at Bill Jacobs Jaguar Land Rover, 420 E. Ogden Ave., at 2:47 p.m. Nov. 9. The offenders’ vehicle was reported stolen a short time earlier from a business on the south side of Chicago. The offenders fled when confronted and were last observed heading west on Ogden Avenue.
In the last two months, DuPage has experienced mid-day auto thefts from car dealerships along Ogden Avenue, from Hinsdale to Naperville. The last attempt on Land Rover was on Oct. 20.
Deceptive practice reported
A resident of the 100 block of Stough Street was contacted by a “private lender” to send $5,500 to invest in a property and has had no further contact since the funds were sent. The correspondence occurred between May 28 and Nov. 1, when the incident was reported.
Tool take from truck
A pipe grade laser was taken from a construction truck in the 700 block of South Washington Street at 2:15 p.m. Nov. 3.
Items stolen from drug store
Someone took Nicorette and other items from Walgreens, 15 Grant Square, without paying at 6:45 p.m. Nov. 6. The suspect was seen walking southbound on Chicago Avenue but could not be located by police. No complaint was signed.
Fleeing and eluding
A black Jeep sped up and fled southbound on Interstate 294 after police activated lights on the car for speeding at 1:11 a.m. Nov. 3.
Suspicious incident reported
Barriers and construction signs were placed along the center of the 5500 block of South Grant Street between 3 and 11 p.m. Nov. 5.
