The Hinsdale Central Habitat for Humanity chapter held its ninth annual Raise the Roof 5K race and walk Sunday morning. More than 400 people registered for the race and helped raise more than $11,000, which will be used to support Habitat projects in DuPage County to expand access to safe, decent and affordable housing. Race sponsors McDonald's, Clarity Physical Therapy and Wellness Center, Quest, Tasty Treat, Entact, Fuller House, Charming Skin Vein Clinics, Kramer Foods and Do It Best Hardware in Clarendon Hills provided generous support for the event. Winners received golden, silver and bronze painted hammers in each age category. (Jim Slonoff photo)
