ANIMAL CAMPS

n All Abilities Animal Friends Camp

This Hinsdale Humane Society camp is designed for children ages 6 to 12, especially those with developmental and cognitive disabilities. Due to COVID-19 limitations, spots are reserved first for children with such disabilities. Any remaining spots can be filled by children without disabilities. Campers will be provided with an array of activities that will encourage them to get active, express their creativity and share their emotions. Register for all five sessions or pick and choose. Please send an email to [email protected] with questions about the camp, including cost, or to register. Masks are required if campers are indoors due to inclement weather. Time: 10 a.m. to noon. RR

Love The Muppets? Curious about how marionettes work? Or how to take an everyday object and give it life? Campers ages 8 to 16 will make and operate simple to complex puppets and perform a show. Time: 1 to 4 p.m. Cost: $177. RR, MD

Campers in first through fifth grade will develop a show, complete with song, dance, solo work and ensemble performance in this Stage Door Fine Arts camp. The week will focus on famous shows, actors and composers, with a final performance featuring numbers from Broadway favorites. Time: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Cost: $230. RR, MD

Kids ages 5 to 11 will learn the basics of cooking and have a blast in this Whole Child Learning camp. They will make breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks; design an apron; and compete in a Chopped Challenge. Masks must be worn. Time: 1 to 4 p.m. Cost: $365. RR, MD

n Kids Cooking Network Camp

In this exciting camp, young chefs ages 5 to 10 will work together in cooking challenges inspired by favorite cooking TV shows. Students will learn how to use different cooking equipment and techniques, explore flavor pairings and create mouthwatering recipes from scratch each day. Time: 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. Cost: $355.

This Whole Child Learning camp for ages 5 to 11 will teach participants the basics of baking as they measure, mix and knead their way to tasty treats. Kids will sample their creations and take some home, too. Masks must be worn. Time: 1 to 4 p.m. Cost: $365. RR

Kids ages 9-14 who are familiar with Roblox will take their skills to the next level with a scripting language called LUA. They will learn the fundamentals of scripting (coding) and dig into the game-making side of Roblox to move from being a player to being a developer. Time: 12:30 to 3:30. Cost: $299. RR

MUSICAL THEATER CAMPS

n BAM Broadway Workshop Series

Students ages 8 to 15 will learn the foundational practices for musical theater — singing, acting and dance — as they prepare to perform “Legally Blonde.” Rehearsals and performances will take place at a location in the Hinsdale or Clarendon Hills area. Kids ages 9-12 can prepare for the upcoming flag football season with SportsKids’ one-week training camp. Get ahead of the game by learning the league rules, fundamentals and game play through drills and scrimmages. Players will learn skills on both sides of the ball, including passing, catching, defensive positioning and de-flagging. Please bring a labeled water bottle and face covering. Time: 9 a.m. to noon or 2:45 to 4:45 p.m. Cost: $115. RR

n Soccer Made in America Advanced Training Camp

The Aleks Mihailovic Soccer Made in America soccer training camp emphasizes psychological dimensions such as motivation, confidence, leadership and game smarts. World-class professional clinicians will provide training for advanced players ages 9 through 17 interested in playing in high school or college. All participants receive a camp T-shirt and a certificate of achievement. Time: 6 to 8:30 p.m. Cost: $179. RR

Students ages 6 to 12 will learn a dance routine, work on technique and freestyle movement and make up their own moves. They will then move to the yoga/stretch portion, where they will learn traditional yoga poses and work on the flexibility and stretches needed for cheer jumps and movements. Parents may attend the last day of camp to watch the final performance. Time: 9 to 11:30 a.m. Cost: $150. RR

This is the final week for Morton Arboretum’s summer camp for preschoolers through those entering eighth grade, with students grouped by age. Morning supervised play from 8 to 9 a.m., supervised lunch from noon to 12:30 p.m. and afternoon supervised play from 3 to 3:30 p.m. is available at an additional cost. Time: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for full-day camps, 9 a.m. to noon or 12:30 to 3:30 for half-days camps. Cost: $410 full-day camps, $245 half-day camps. RR
