Past week has one new COVID-19 case in town

One new Hinsdale resident has tested positive for COVID-19 over the past week.

The DuPage County Health Department reported one new case, and the Cook County Health Department reported no new cases.

That brings the total number of reported cases in the village to 1,828, compared to 1,827 last week.

Amita Hinsdale Hospital had three confirmed COVID-19 patients and no patients awaiting test results as of Monday, a spokesman said.

The rolling seven-day positivity rate for Region 8, which includes DuPage County, was 2.2 percent on Saturday, compared to 1.5 percent a week prior.

Illinois has administered almost 13 million doses of vaccines. An average of 19,569 doses are being administered daily, compared to about 20,794 last week.

More than 58 percent of DuPage County residents are fully vaccinated.
