Only one new COVID-19 case cited in town

The DuPage County Health Department reported one new case, and the Cook County Health Department reported no new cases.

That brings the total number of reported cases in the village to 1,829, up from 1,828 last week.

Amita Hinsdale Hospital had one confirmed COVID-19 patient and one patient awaiting test results on Wednesday, a spokesman said.

The rolling seven-day positivity rate for Region 8, which includes DuPage County, was .9 percent on Saturday, compared to .8 percent a week prior.

Illinois has administered almost 12.6 million doses of vaccines. An average of 43,381 doses are being administered daily, compared to about 34,765 last week. Almost 57 percent of DuPage County residents are fully vaccinated.
