Confirmed COVID-19 cases are climbing in Hinsdale

Seventy-four Hinsdale residents have tested positive for COVID-19 over the past week.

The DuPage County Health Department reported 66 new cases and the Cook County Health Department reported eight new cases. That brings the total number of reported cases in the village to 561, up from 487 last week.

Amita Hinsdale Hospital was treating 24 confirmed COVID-19 patients and nine patients awaiting test results on Wednesday, a spokeswoman said.

Community Consolidated District 181 reported four new cases on Nov. 9. All are students — three at Clarendon Hills Middle School and one at Monroe School.

Hinsdale High School District 86 reported 15 current positive cases on Friday, with 76 people in isolation and 90 in quarantine.

The rolling seven-day positivity rate for Region 8, which includes DuPage County, was 14.7 percent on Saturday, compared to 11.6 a week prior.
