'Pollinators in Action'

Artists are invited to submit artwork for "Pollinators in Action: Flowering Journeys," an art exhibit featuring pollinators that will run May 6-June 29 at Mayslake Peabody Estate at 1717 W. 31st St. in Oak Brook. In addition to eye-catching art, the exhibit will feature fun facts about pollinators to help visitors connect the beauty of pollinators to the critical role they play in our ecosystem. HCS Junior Board Online Food Drive

The HCS Family Services Jr. Board is sponsoring this food drive to help stock the shelves at the agency's food pantry. Needed items are peanut butter, rice, pasta, pasta sauce, cereal, pancake mix, tuna fish, canned chicken, canned fruit, canned vegetables, household cleaning supplies, toilet paper, paper towels, diapers and bath soaps. Bad Pet Drawings Virtual Fundraiser

For a $15 donation, individuals can email their favorite pet photo and receive a custom pet drawing created by Hinsdale Humane Society staff and volunteers in return. Proceeds will help offset shortfalls due to canceled or postponed events, declining adoptions at the Tuthill Family Pet Rescue & Resource Center and dwindling donations. The catalog is posted at the website listed above. Presale orders are processed in the order they're received and are limited to the first 350 customers; there's a five-plant minimum on orders. Orders need to be picked up and paid for at Mayslake Peabody Estate from 2 to 7 p.m. June 5 or from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 6. All proceeds support educational programming at the forest district.

30 Day Virtual Wellness Challenge

April 13-May 16

Help Wellness House celebrate its 30th anniversary by attending 30 classes in 30 days. Join multiple virtual drop-in classes per day, including yoga, cooking and mindfulness. Attend either a 30-, 45- or 60-minute class for the visit to count. How to Manage Stress, Anxiety, and Parenting Under COVID-19

Join this webinar by Lisa Damour on understanding how stress and anxiety operate, both under everyday conditions and at times of heightened concern and disruption. Learn how to keep pressure and tension from reaching toxic levels, how to parent effectively in the current circumstances and about the most reliable strategies for managing ongoing stress.
