Erna Jean Zoberis, nee Rywniak, 83, of Burr Ridge passed away peacefully on May 14, 2023.
She was known for her exquisite eye for detail, unbounded creativity and designs, and strength and courage, particularly in overcoming an unexpected hearing loss as a young adult. Ever the supportive grandmother, Erna attended all of her eight grandchildren's games and activities as only a true fan could, donning logoed apparel and making far treks just to enjoy a glimpse of her grandchildren living their best lives.
She relished her quiet and reflective time alone, finding comfort in her faith and connection to nature, yet she loved being around people, never missed a party and was the last to leave one! Erna treasured holidays, especially her birthday and Christmas. Traditions were cherished and lovingly embraced, and creating memories and ensuring precious moments were of the highest importance, bringing much comfort to her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband of almost 62 years, Walter; her children, Laura (Ron) Plantz and Craig (Tracy) of Hinsdale; her grandchildren, Tyler (Jana), Zachary, Logan, Abrielle, Nicholas, Natalie, Gillian, Jacqueline; and her first great-grandchild making his appearance this July.
She received funeral rites at St. Mary's Catholic Church and was laid to rest at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Frankfort on May 18.
