Francis Joseph Sazama Jr.

Francis Joseph Sazama Jr. of Burr Ridge passed away peacefully April 1, 2023, surrounded by his family.

Francis graduated from the United States Military Academy West Point in 1962. On June 30, 1962, he married Susan Nerad, whom he loved dearly throughout his life. From 1964-69, he served in the U.S. Specialized Forces. After earning an MBA from the University of Chicago, he went on to become a successful business executive and owner of Chicago Bullet Proof Systems until retirement.

Francis will be remembered as a strong, athletic man with a great sense of humor. He played center on the football team at Riverside-Brookfield High School and at West Point. He enjoyed flying his plane, boating and fishing. He especially enjoyed duck hunting and was a member of the Senachwine Duck Club. He was a devoted husband and father and a devout Catholic.

He is survived by his wife, Susan; his children, Kristin, Susan, David and William; his sister Cynthia; his seven grandchildren; and his great-grandson.

Visitation service will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, April 7, at Adolf Funeral Home, 7000 S. Madison St., Willowbrook.

Burial will follow at 11:30 a.m. at Resurrection Cemetery in Justice, IL.
