Police beat

Hinsdale police distributed the following reports Nov. 30.

DUI arrests

• Michael C. Belsky, 48, 12818 Hill Drive, Crestwood, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle and improper lane use at 12:25 a.m. Nov. 20 at Interstate 294 and Ogden Avenue. He was charged and released to appear in court.

• Marzela Villa, 31, 1128 Rural St., Aurora, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident (striking a median barrier) and improper lane use at 11:21 p.m. Nov. 27 at Route 83 and 55th Street. Villa was charged and released to appear in court.

Battery arrest

Jack O’Brien Prince, 22, 6 Campbell Court, Toronto, Canada, was arrested for battery and attempted resisting or obstructing a police officer at 9:35 p.m. Nov. 24 at Chase Bank, 4 N. Washington St. He fled from the scene and was located by police at Washington and Maple streets. He posted bond and was released to appear in court.

Sale of alcohol to minor

Shivam K. Patel, 25, 1831 E. Cree Lane, Mt. Prospect, was arrested at 4:45 p.m. Nov. 23 at Hinsdale Food Mart, 5827 S. Madison St., for sale to a prohibited person after police received a citizen compliant about the sale of alcohol to minors. Police observed subjects who appeared to be younger than 21 exit the business with alcohol and confirmed they were under age. The suspect was cited and released to appear in court.

Residential burglary

Police observed pry marks on a door and forced entry to a home in the 600 block of West North Street. The incident occurred between Nov. 18 and 26 while the owners were not home. Nothing was reported missing.

Thefts reported

• Credit cards and a house key were stolen from the purse of a resident of the 300 block of West Fourth Street between 4:30 and 5:30 p.m. Nov. 19, and fraudulent charges were made at a Chicago restaurant. The theft was reported Nov. 21.

• Someone withdrew money electronically from a bank account belonging to a resident of the 500 block of North Elm Street between Nov. 22-23.

Identity theft

Someone opened two fraudulent credit cards using the identity of a resident of the 400 block of South Jackson Street on Nov. 18. The incident was reported Nov. 22.

Arrests do not constitute conviction of a crime, and individuals listed here should be presumed innocent until proven guilty.
