DuPage needs leadership of Hart, Galassi on county board

Having been raised in DuPage, I know firsthand how this county has always been the exception to the “Illinois rule.” Our leaders prioritize balancing budgets, keeping taxes low, investing in public safety and rooting out corruption. However, DuPage is at a crossroads. Our community can either become more like Chicago and Springfield — or we can continue to be a beacon of good government in a state that desperately needs one.

That is why my wife Abby and I are supporting Greg Hart for DuPage County Board chairman. Greg is a dedicated father and an accomplished, commonsense leader who possesses the requisite experience to serve as chief executive of a county larger than six U.S. states. Greg is also endorsed by law enforcement, which is critical considering our community’s recent crime surge. Greg’s opponent, on the other hand, has no private sector management experience, worked with Mike Madigan to raise taxes multiple times and is a lead supporter of the SAFE-T Act, which is opposed by 100 out of 102 state’s attorneys.

We also enthusiastically support Greg’s running mate, Kari Galassi, for DuPage County Board member. Kari is an effective advocate for our children’s education, an accomplished CPA and dedicated to public safety.

Elections have consequences — and this election is likely the most consequential in recent memory for our community. Please keep DuPage a great place to live, work, and raise a family by supporting the Hart-Galassi ticket. — PJ Huizenga, Hinsdale
