9U SILVER TAKES DOWN RAIDERS

In a battle of first-place teams, the Falcons earned a great victory over the Bartlett Raiders.

A long opening drive resulted in a Teddy Ouimette touchdown run and a 6-0 lead. The defense — led by Cooper Milburn, Carter Pearson, Keegan McCoskey Jake Stanton, JP Rago, John Dunn, Will Jones, Mas Buttitta, Max Breton and Rocco Mateja — brought a great week of practice to the game and shut out the potent Raider offense.

The D started the second half with a great stop, then Ouimette scampered around end for a 45-yard touchdown run to go up 12-0. The Falcon offense got the ball again and under the direction of Nate Morris marched all the way down to pay dirt. Dominant blocking by Luke Hanson, AJ Siepker, Jasper Maggio, Harrison Kuzniar, Grant Garber, Alex Demetis and Dario Rendina allowed Billy Jaqua to punch in the final TD for the 18-0 win.

9U GOLD EARNS THE WIN

9U Gold was coming off two heart-breaking losses and looking to right this ship against Tri City. The defense set the tone with Luke Gray and Marco Oliverio setting the edge, while Sebastian Christensen, Carter Cox, Christian Kirchev and Nico Will applied pressure up the middle to force a 3 and out.

The offense was able to move the ball with ease thanks to Ivan Burt, Joey Hillegass, Lukasz Gewont, Miles Perucki and Jacob Zager creating holes for Kellen Brown, Nate Thangamani and Carson Malinas to run through. Ben Murphy completed a nice pass to tight end Soren Carlson, but it is was a 65-yard touchdown run by Topher Allanson that would prove to be the difference in the game.

The defense was able to pitch a shutout the rest of the way thanks to some hard hitting by Marcello Salamone and Reid Jacobsen deflecting any passes thrown his way. 9U Gold prevailed 6-0. Next up — a showdown with undefeated Lions.

10U SILVER IMPROVES TO 6-1

The Falcons came out loud and proud Sunday at Dickinson Field.

The Falcons Defense continued to dial up exotic blitz packages that bewildered the Arlington Heights Cowboys all day Linebackers Burke Broschul, Ryan Pieczkowski, Lucas Herrick, Shane Befar and Jaxon Uthe spent the entire afternoon in the Cowboys backfield, swarming to the ball forcing sacks and fumbles. Rayan Sheikh, Bennet Zeikus, Augie Seraphin, Lucas Herrick and Faiz Moosani dominated on the defensive line.

On offense, Brady Madden was at it again spreading the ball around the field and finally dropping a dime with Jaxon Uthe for a beautiful 45-yard touchdown! On the ground, Gavin Schuler was flexing all over the defenders while Johnny Trombley used some sweet spin moves to dance around.

The Falcons won 8-0 to improve their record to 6-1.

The Falcons take on rival Lyons Township at 12:30 p.m. Sunday at LT.

10U GOLD SHUTS OUT SAINTS

The Falcons 10U Gold squad (3-3) got back to its winning ways this week, pummeling the Naperville Saints 20-0.

The coaching staff renewed the focus on fundamentals at practice, and it paid off with the Falcons blocking, tackling and running aggressively. Michael Kipnis got the action going early with a 48-yard touchdown run. The offense struck again in the second quarter when Charlie Lynch scampered in from 20 yards and the Falcons took a 12-0 lead into half.

Hinsdale opened the second half with a punishing 13-play, 70-yard drive capped by Kellan Goodwin tip-toeing the sideline on his way to the endzone. Hinsdale hosts Lyons next as the team continues the push for the playoffs.

11U SILVER STILL UNDEFEATED

Sunday’s highly anticipated matchup between the division’s final two undefeated teams did not disappoint.

Through TWO quarters, both teams showed their defensive strength, allowing only 6 points. Tied after half, Hinsdale moved into striking distance, where tight end Jake Wolowick took Benjamin Allanson’s pass 35 yards to the house. Palatine was quick to retaliate, returning the following kickoff. During Hinsdale’s final fourth quarter possession in a 12-12 game, Michael Garber put the team on his back. He rushed outside, stiff arming one defender, then another, then trucking the third to get down to the 1 yard line. Next play, he punched it in for the go-ahead touchdown. Full back Clayton Tims caught the Allanson a2-point pass, giving Hinsdale a 20-12 lead. On Palatine’s final drive, Hinsdale’s defense came in clutch, stopping Palatine short of the goal.

When the clock hit zeros, the Falcons erupted, jumping and cheering for the incredible team victory they achieved.

12U RED CLINCHES PLAYOFF SPOT

The 12U Red Team clinched its spot in the playoffs defeating Carol Stream 20-6 Saturday night.

Will Geiersbach put on another athletic performance, scoring the first points, followed by Hunter Velco’s sixth touchdown of the season and quarterback Asad Memon’s run-in touchdown to put the nail in the coffin for Carol Stream. Also notable offensively were Gavin Hoang’s key interception, William Cowey’s blocks, Finn McInerney’s full-field hustle and Will Stamer’s effortless switch from receiving to blocking.

Defensively the line kept the pressure at a 10 the entire game. Marco Guisto and Nate Weichman were huge contributors with some nasty tackles and Prescott Nicholson and Alex Golon had some hard hits. Not to be overlooked is the continued 110 percent efforts of Jack Judge and Rutger Ronaldson, which have kept the opponent’s score so low.

Special recognition goes to Ryan Rogero, who punted, kicked, caught and tackled this game.

JV 12U GOLD DOMINATES

The Falcons JV 12U Gold team improved its overall record to 6-1 with a dominate 38-6 home win against Bartlett Sunday. Mikey Menza set the tone by taking the opening kick-off back for a touchdown. After a strong defensive series that ended with a fumble recovery, Charlie Foster torched the Raider defense for a 74-yard rushing score.

Throughout the first half, the Falcons continued to hit on big plays. Caleb Brady found wideout Connor Plunkett for a 34-yard reception, with Plunkett using fancy footwork to dance his way into the end zone. Frankie Carbonara underscored strong play on both sides of the ball with a 46-yard rushing touchdown to pad the lead to 26-0 at halftime.

Second half highlights included a pick 6 interception by Matthew Kirchheimer, who was patrolling the secondary with intent. Menza then added an exclamation point with his second kick-off return touchdown of the game.

VARSITY RED MOVES TO 7-0

The Falcons Varsity Red moved to 7-0 with a 14-6 win at Lyons Township Saturday. The offense was able to overcome two turnovers and a penalty-ridden performance to put two first half touchdowns on the board. That was enough to secure the victory.

Owen Sunderson led his team on the ground with four rushes for 111 yards and a touchdown. He added a 31-yard touchdown pass to John Breton. Henry Milburn and Alex Przyzycki helped on the ground, carrying the ball each six times for 66 yards and 40 yards, respectively.

The defense was led by Tommy Riordan, who had his way with the LT offensive line, piling up four tackles for loss and a sack. Luke Zajicek, Amaan Moosani, Jack Enright and Mutaz Alshahrour pitched in to shut down the LT running game. Luke McLaughlin snagged a first half interception and Sunderson grabbed another in the fourth quarter to close the game out.

VARSITY SILVER KEEPS ROLLING

The 13U Falcons entertained the home crowd this past Sunday despite a tough loss to Oswego Orange.

Both teams were well matched in the first half with some great tackles from Isiah Shin, Michael Dunford and Jack Wyent. Alex Tafoya had a 18-yard kickoff return featuring some great footwork, but the Falcons were unable to convert. Oswego put two points on the board going into halftime.

D1 GOLD WINS, NOW 7-1

The Hinsdale Falcons Division 1 Gold team continued its amazing season this Sunday at Dickinson Field, improving its record to 7-0.

The Falcons put together a well-balanced, 85-yard drive to start the second quarter with Brian O’Malley’s 30-yard pass to James Skokna, setting up first and goal from the 1.
