Betty C. Fall

Betty Fall, nee Caruso, 97, a longtime resident of Hinsdale, recently of Glenview, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Sept. 24, 2022.

Betty was a graduate of Longwood Academy and Northwestern University, where she majored in psychology. After graduation, Betty met and married her love, Robert "Bob" Fall, who, like Betty, was from Beverly. They moved to Hinsdale where they raised their daughter and were blessed with 53 years of marriage until Bob's passing in 2005. Together Betty and Bob enjoyed entertaining, travel and bridge. They were longtime members of Hinsdale Golf Club and particularly enjoyed tennis there.

Betty was active in various charitable endeavors, including Chicago Maternity Center and Children's Home and Aid Society. She was a former president of the Hinsdale Garden Club. She so enjoyed her book clubs and bridge groups. Most important in her life was her family.

Betty was a lady remembered for her grace, humor and warmth. She had a full life and appreciated every minute of it but especially the moments when in the company of family and friends. Her family will miss her warm, generous nature, her insights and sharp intellect, which she retained until the end.

She is survived by her daughter, Carol (Bill) Hyatt; her grandchildren, Scott (Shevawn) Hyatt and Linda (Ryan Cohen) Hyatt; and her great-grandsons, Spencer and Simon Hyatt.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Bob; her brother, Dick (Shirley) Caruso; and her parents, Mae and Sam Caruso.

A private Mass has been held.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bright Futures Foundation, 2500 Indigo Lane, Box 2600, Glenview, IL 60026; or to a charity of choice.
