Donald “Don” Holt Craigmile, a longtime Hinsdale resident, passed away July 9, 2022, in Eden Prairie, Minn., surrounded by family.

Don was born in 1933 in Oak Park and graduated from Hinsdale Central High School in 1950. He continued his formal education at the University of Wisconsin/Madison, where he earned a bachelor’s degree and a juris doctorate.

Throughout his years Don was an athlete. From All-Conference in high school football to weightlifting, playing golf and running, well into retirement. Don was a lifelong loyal Chicago Bears fan and season ticket holder.

While in Madison, Don met and married Louise in 1960. Shortly after, he began an extensive career with Chicago Bridge and Iron, raising the family in Hinsdale following a short three-year period in England where Don and Louise eventually retired and settled for 16 years. From their base in England, the couple traveled extensively through Europe and other parts of the globe.

Eventually, they settled back in Hinsdale until October 2021 when they moved to a retirement community in Eden Prairie, Minn., to be near family.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years Louise, nee Revell; his daughter, Hilary Lincoln; his son, Doug Craigmile; and his grandchildren, Piper and Chloe Lincoln and Nick and Chelsea Craigmile.

Services are private.

In lieu of flowers, cards and letters may be sent to Louise at 431 Prairie Center Drive, Apt. 322, Eden Prairie MN 55344.
