D181 sees two-day jump in new COVID-19 cases

Twenty-six Hinsdale residents have tested positive for COVID-19 over the past week.

The DuPage County Health Department reported 20 new cases, and the Cook County Health Department reported six new cases.

That brings the total number of reported cases in the village to 2,246, compared to 2,220 last week.

Amita Hinsdale Hospital had 11 confirmed COVID-19 patients and no patients awaiting test results as of Wednesday, a spokeswoman said.

Hinsdale Central High School was closed last week and will not have an updated report until tomorrow, Dec. 3.

In Community Consolidated Elementary District 181, 18 positive cases were reported Nov. 29-30, involving 16 students and two staff members.

The rolling seven-day positivity rate for Region 8, which includes DuPage County, was 6.5 percent on Nov. 27, compared to 2.9 percent the previous week.

Illinois has administered more than 17.3 million doses of vaccines. An average of 46,599 doses are being administered daily, compared to about 63,199 last week.

The percentage of individuals fully vaccinated is almost 67.5 percent in DuPage County and about 69.6 percent in the 60521 ZIP code.
