COVID-19 cases show increase in Hinsdale

Twenty-five new Hinsdale residents have tested positive for COVID-19 over the past week.

The DuPage County Health Department reported 23 new cases, and the Cook County Health Department reported two new cases.

That brings the total number of reported cases in the village to 1,894, compared to 1,869 last week.

Amita Hinsdale Hospital had seven confirmed COVID-19 patient and two patients awaiting test results as of Wednesday, a spokesman said.

The rolling seven-day positivity rate for Region 8, which includes DuPage County, was 6 percent on Saturday, compared to 5.3 percent a week prior.

Illinois has administered almost 13.7 million doses of vaccines. An average of 39,011 doses are being administered daily, compared to about 24,695 last week.

Almost 62 percent of DuPage County residents are fully vaccinated. In the 60521 ZIP code, 67 percent of residents have had one shot and almost 63 percent are fully vaccinated.
