Slight uptick in COVID-19 cases over past week

Eight new Hinsdale residents have tested positive for COVID-19 over the past week.

The DuPage County Health Department reported eight new cases, and the Cook County Health Department reported no new cases.

That brings the total number of reported cases in the village to 1,836, compared to 1,828 last week.

Amita Hinsdale Hospital had one confirmed COVID-19 patient and one patient awaiting test results as of Monday, a spokesman said.

The rolling seven-day positivity rate for Region 8, which includes DuPage County, was 3.7 percent on Saturday, compared to 2.2 percent a week prior.

Illinois has administered 13.1 million doses of vaccines. An average of 17,776 doses are being administered daily, compared to about 19,569 last week.

More than 59 percent of DuPage County residents are fully vaccinated.
