Two new COVID-19 cases reported in town

Two new Hinsdale residents have tested positive for COVID-19 over the past week.

The DuPage County Health Department reported one new cases, and the Cook County Health Department reported one new case.

That brings the total number of reported cases in the village to 1,828 up from 1,826 last week.

Amita Hinsdale Hospital had two confirmed COVID-19 patients and no patients awaiting test results on Wednesday, a spokesman said.

The rolling seven-day positivity rate for Region 8, which includes DuPage County, was .8 percent on Saturday, compared to 1.4 percent a week prior.

Illinois has administered almost 12.3 million doses of vaccines. An average of about 34,765 vaccines are being administered daily, compared to about 44,040 last week. About 55 percent of DuPage County residents are fully vaccinated.
