Rosemary 'Terri' Barrett

Rosemary Therese Barrett, known fondly as Terri, passed away peacefully after suffering a stroke on May 2, 2021, at the age of 76.

Terri was born in 1945 in Harvey. The family included her parents, Joseph and Paula Gross, and her three beloved brothers, Joseph, Eric and Richard Gross.

Terri earned her nursing degree from St. Frances School of Nursing in Evanston. She worked as a rehabilitation nurse and later as a hospice nurse. She met and married her husband, Richard Barrett, nearly 53 years ago. Dick and Terri settled initially in Hinsdale, then moved to Western Springs to start their family.

Each summer, Terri and family traveled to their beloved lake house retreat in Michigan. Terri and her husband also enjoyed traveling the world - often times with their family as well. Another love of theirs was traveling to Hawaii regularly.

Terri had a contagious, joyous spirit and an incredible gift of love to others. Her generosity and smile were infectious, brightening the lives of all she came in contact with. Her family was of utmost importance to her as she prioritized the needs of her husband, children, daughter-in-law and grandson above her own.

Terri is survived by her husband Richard Barrett; her two children, Kelly Barrett and Jessie (Jessica) Barrett; and her grandchild, Chase.
