Members of the Hinsdale Fire Department and the community helped Deputy Chief Tim McElroy celebrate 48 years of service Friday prior to his retirement. Chief John Giannelli was one of several speakers who brought up highlights and antics from McElroy's career. McElroy's wife, Robin, shares a laugh with his many relatives who attended. McElroy received several proclamations as well as mementos of his career before the ceremony concluded with a "walkout." (Jim Slonoff photos)
