Number of COVID-19 cases and vaccinations are both on the rise

One hundred and fifty-four Hinsdale residents have tested positive for COVID-19 over the past week.

The DuPage County Health Department reported 150 new cases, and the Cook County Health Department reported four new cases.

That brings the total number of reported cases in the village to 1,507, up from 1,353 last week.

Amita Hinsdale Hospital had four confirmed COVID-19 patients and no patients awaiting test results on Wednesday, a spokeswoman said.

Community Consolidated District 181 reported 13 new cases from March 10-16, all of which involved students.

Hinsdale High School District 86 reported nine current positive cases March 12, with 50 people in isolation and 70 in quarantine.

The rolling seven-day positivity rate for Region 8, which includes DuPage County, was 3.8 percent on Saturday, compared to 4.7 percent a week prior.

Illinois has administered almost 5.4 million doses of vaccines. An average of 102,564 vaccines are being administered daily, compared to 92,180 last week. Almost 13 percent of DuPage County residents are fully vaccinated.
