Hinsdale police distributed the following reports Feb. 9.

DUI arrest

Andrew J. Hietpas, 27, 8913 W. Southview Ave., Brookfield, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, speeding and improper lane use at 1:35 a.m. Feb. 7 in the 300 block of East Ogden Avenue. He was charged and released to appear in court.

Drivers arrested for leaving the scene

• Mateo Luis Ayala, 18, 928 College Blvd., No. 204, Addison, was arrested for leaving the scene of an accident, driving an uninsured vehicle, improper lane use and driving without a valid license at 9:57 a.m. Feb. 4 at Ogden Avenue and Oak Street. The suspect sideswiped another car and fled the scene of the crash. The victim followed the suspect and blocked him in the cul-de-sac in the 700 block of Franklin Street. Ayala was charged and released to appear in court.

• Roberto J. Vasquez, 45, 4731 S. Harding Ave., Chicago, was arrested for failure to give information to owner after striking unattended property and failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash at 2:31 a.m. Feb. 7 in the 200 block of East 55th Street. The suspect drove off the road, struck a wooden utility pole and fled the scene. He was stopped by Westmont police at Fairview Avenue and 55th Street and cited while in their custody for a DUI investigation.

Hit-and-run collision

A suspect described as a white female in her 40s with blond hair driving a white sedan crashed into another vehicle in the intersection at 55th Street and Garfield Avenue at 3:25 p.m. Feb. 3 and left the scene.

Home burglarized

Someone rang the doorbell of a home in the 500 block of West Chicago Avenue at 5:27 p.m. Feb. 2 and advised the owner that he needed to show him work that needed to be done in the backyard. After spending 10 minutes in the backyard, the victim went back inside and discovered his master bedroom had been ransacked. The suspect is described as a Hispanic man of medium build in his 30s, wearing tan or gray clothing and a winter hat driving a white pickup truck. The victim observed a second Hispanic man inside the truck as they drove away.

Cell phone taken

A patient at ManorCare, 600 W. Ogden Ave., reported that her cell phone went missing from her nightstand between midnight and 8:30 a.m. Feb. 1.
