Number of confirmed cases in Hinsdale rises

Forty-eight Hinsdale residents have tested positive for COVID-19 over the past week.

The DuPage County Health Department reported 45 new cases and the Cook County Health Department reported 3 new cases.

That brings the total number of reported cases in the village to 677, up from 629 last week.

Amita Hinsdale Hospital was treating 36 confirmed COVID-19 patients and 24 patients awaiting test results on Wednesday, a spokeswoman said.

Community Consolidated District 181 reported 13 new cases from Nov. 17-22, including 11 students, one teacher and one staff member.

Hinsdale High School District 86 reported 50 current positive cases on Friday, with 129 people in isolation and 199 in quarantine.

The rolling seven-day positivity rate for Region 8, which includes DuPage County, was 14.5 percent on Friday, compared to 16 percent a week prior.
