Growth in COVID-19 cases slows in Hinsdale

Thirteen Hinsdale residents have been diagnosed with a confirmed case of COVID-19 over the past week.

The DuPage County Health Department reported 13 new cases and the Cook County Health Department reported no new cases. That brings the total number of confirmed cases in the village to 458, up from 445 last week.

Amita Hinsdale Hospital had eight confirmed COVID-19 patients and eight patients awaiting test results on Wednesday, a spokeswoman said.

Community Consolidated District 181 reported nine new cases on Oct. 23 and 26. The cases include four students (two at Clarendon Hills Middle School, one at Walker School and one at Prospect School), four staff members (two at Monroe School, one at Madison school and one at Hinsdale Middle School) and one teacher (at The Lane).

Hinsdale High School District 86 reported five current positive cases on Friday, with 89 people in isolation and 44 in quarantine.

The rolling seven-day positivity rate for Region 8, which includes DuPage County, was 9.5 percent on Saturday.
