Hinsdale logs 23 new cases in the past week

Twenty-three Hinsdale residents have been diagnosed with a confirmed case of COVID-19 over the past week.

The DuPage County Health Department reported 19 new cases and the Cook County Health Department reported four new cases. That brings the total number of confirmed cases in the village to 445.

Amita Hinsdale Hospital had five confirmed COVID-19 patients and four patients awaiting test results on Wednesday, a spokeswoman said.

As of Friday, Community Consolidated District 181 had three new cases, all staff members. One works at Elm and Prospect, one works at Elm and one works at Madison and Clarendon Hills Middle School.

Hinsdale High School District 86 reported five current positive cases, with 46 people in isolation and 32 in quarantine.

The rolling seven-day positivity rate for Region 8, which includes DuPage County, was 9 percent on Saturday.
