COVID-19 cases pass 400 this week in town

The number of Hinsdale residents who have been diagnosed with a confirmed case of COVID-19 hit 405 on Oct. 7, compared to 392 a week ago.

The DuPage County Health Department reported 358 confirmed cases in Hinsdale and the Cook County Health Department reported 47 confirmed cases in the village.

A total of 168 confirmed cases and 34 deaths are associated with ManorCare in Hinsdale, according to the Illinois Department of Public Health. Those numbers include residents and staff who might not be DuPage County residents.

Amita Hinsdale Hospital had one confirmed COVID-19 patients and five patients awaiting test results on Wednesday, a spokeswoman said.

As of Friday, Community Consolidated District 181 had reported a total of five confirmed student cases. Hinsdale High School District 86 reported two new confirmed cases, with 30 people in isolation and 64 in quarantine.

DuPage County has recorded 18,382 confirmed cases, including 568 deaths, up from 17,753 cases and 562 deaths a week ago.

The rolling seven-day positivity rate for Region 8, which includes DuPage County, was 4.8 percent Sunday.
