Number of COVID-19 cases is still climbing

The number of Hinsdale residents who have been diagnosed with a confirmed case of COVID-19 hit 297 Tuesday, compared to 276 a week ago.

The DuPage County Health Department reported 272 confirmed cases in Hinsdale and the Cook County Health Department reported 25 confirmed cases in the village.

A total of 168 confirmed cases and 33 deaths are associated with ManorCare in Hinsdale, according to the Illinois Department of Public Health. Those numbers include residents and staff who might not be DuPage County residents.

Amita Hinsdale Hospital had three confirmed COVID-19 patients and five patients awaiting test results on Wednesday, a spokeswoman said.

DuPage County has a total of 13,967 confirmed cases, including 531 deaths, up from 13,135 cases and 525 deaths a week ago. The number of confirmed cases in towns neighboring Hinsdale are as follows:
