HOSPITALS HAVE NEW Chief officer
Adam Maycock has been named the new president and chief executive officer of Amita Health Adventist Medical Centers in Hinsdale and La Grange.
Maycock, who was serving as interim president and CEO, assumed the role permanently effective July 12. He succeeds Michael Murrill, who left the organization last month for a promotion within AdventHealth, a parent organization of Amita Health.
Maycock joined Amita Health Adventist Hinsdale and La Grange in January 2017 as chief operating officer, bringing extensive leadership experience to the organization. In this role, he managed the successful renovation of the cardiac catheterization labs on both campuses, as well as the expansion of the outpatient pavilion at La Grange, which is now home to the Center for Advanced Joint Replacement and the Cardiac Center of Excellence. In addition to leading day-to-day operations, Maycock has played an integral role in leading both medical campuses through the COVID-19 pandemic.
“It is an honor to step into the president and CEO role for the Hinsdale and La Grange campuses, continuing our mission of extending the healing ministry of Jesus to our community,” Maycock said. “The commitment to our mission is strong from staff, nurses, physicians and leadership. I am excited to lead this group forward.”
Maycock came to Amita Health from AdventHealth, where he worked in market research, strategy and ambulatory and acute care operations for more than 14 years.
“We could not be more pleased to have Adam seamlessly transition into the lead role for both our Hinsdale and La Grange medical campuses,” said Thor Thordarson, Amita Health chief operating officer. “As we continue the integration of the Hinsdale and La Grange medical campuses as part of our strategic plan to best serve the community, I’m confident Adam’s leadership will continue to bring this vision to fruition.”
Maycock obtained his undergraduate degree in marketing from Oakwood University and earned an MBA from Rollins College, Crummer Graduate School of Business.
He and his wife, Khadja, have three daughters, the youngest of whom was born at Amita Hinsdale Hospital.
AGENTS DONATE MEALS TO HOSPITAL
The Hinsdale and Downers Grove offices of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Chicago conducted a fund drive for frontline staff at Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove. Over a week, more than 70 people donated enough funds for the offices to deliver 100 meals, each serving up to six people, to Good Samaritan on May 28.
Meals for Heroes, as the program is called, is a partnership between Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Chicago’s Hinsdale and Downers Groves offices, Bon Appetit Management Co. and Wheaton College. Held in conjunction with the firm’s Kindness Foundation, the activity was part of the firm’s annual company-wide Community Kindness effort.
“I sincerely thank everyone who donated to this very worthwhile mission,” said Terri Doney, manager broker of the firm’s two offices. “Because of your generosity, we were able to deliver 100 meals to those individuals who have been serving on the front lines during this pandemic. It’s our simply way of expressing kindness and gratitude to the most essential of the essential.”

BROOKS STRONG INVITE A SUCCESS
More than 140 golfers raised more than $70,000 at the Third Annual Brooks Strong Invitational Golf Tournament July 27 at Hinsdale Golf Club.
Proceeds support the Brooks Strong Foundation, which was established by Nora and Rob Tonn in honor of their son, Brooks, who lost a brave battle with cancer in 2017 at the age of 10.
The foundation provides scholarships to help defray the cost of sports and other activities for kids going through cancer treatment and funds much-needed research into cures for pediatric cancers.
