Larger jump in COVID cases over past week

A total of 223 Hinsdale residents have confirmed cases of COVID-19 as of July 16, compared to 207 a week ago.

The DuPage County Health Department reported 202 confirmed cases in Hinsdale and the Cook County Health Department reported 21 confirmed cases in the village.

A total of 168 confirmed cases and 32 deaths are associated with ManorCare in Hinsdale, according to the Illinois Department of Public Health. Those numbers include residents and staff who might not be DuPage County residents.

Amita Hinsdale Hospital had five confirmed COVID-19 patients and 11 patients awaiting test results on Wednesday, a spokeswoman said.

DuPage County has a total of 9,794 confirmed cases, including 487 deaths, up from 9,395 cases and 473 deaths a week ago.
