Police beat

Hinsdale police distributed the following reports June 2.

DUI arrests

• Jake Andrew Bronson, 26, 134 N. Lincoln St., Hinsdale, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and speeding at 10:17 p.m. May 27 in the 300 block of South County Line Road. He was charged and released to appear in court.

• Jeffrey D. Herning, 33, 1224 Red Silver Court, Downers Grove, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, driving with a blood-alcohol level higher than .08 and stopping, parking or standing on a roadway at 2:33 a.m. May 28 at Forest and Ogden avenues. He was charged and released to appear in court.

• Alejandro Mendoza, 26, 2309 River Hills Lane, Bolingbrook, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and obstructing identification at 12:16 a.m. May 31 in the 100 block of East First Street. He was observed sleeping in the drivers seat with the vehicle running. He was charged and released to appear in court.

Man arrested for property damage

James Joseph Nash, 68, 835 Turnberry Lane, Willowbrook, was cited for two local ordinance charges of vandalism for writing with a red marker on the windows of Page’s Restaurant, 26 E. Hinsdale Ave., and the Hinsdale News Agency, 24 E. Hinsdale Ave., at 11:27 p.m. May 31. He was charged and released to appear in court.

Suspended license arrests

Anthony J. Lastovich, 30, 5238 W. Hutchinson St., Chicago, was arrested for driving with a suspended license and improper lighting at 9:29 p.m. May 27 at Ogden Avenue and York Road. He was charged and released to appear in court.

Fraud reported

A resident of the 800 block of South Lincoln Street sent $3,247.25 via PayPal to an unknown suspect on Instagram to purchase trading cards at 2 p.m. May 20. The suspect later deleted his Instagram account after the victim requested a refund. The incident was reported at 2:16 p.m. May 27.

Thefts reported

• A $600 bicycle was taken from outside The Community House, 415 W. Eighth St., while the owner was jogging in Robbins Park between 6 and 6:58 p.m. May 27. The bicycle was left unlocked on the walking path.

• A resident of ManorCare, 600 W. Ogden Ave., reported $43 was taken from his wallet, which had been stored in a cabinet in his room, between 10 a.m. May 24 and 3:19 p.m. May 27.

Residents victim of identify theft

• Someone used the identity of a resident of the 400 block of South Monroe Street to file for unemployment benefits sometime before 8:30 a.m. May 27.

• The credit card information of a resident of the 900 block of Allmen Avenue was used to make five fraudulent purchases totaling $527.20 through an online retailer on May 26.
