Hinsdale police distributed the following reports May 12.

Sleeping motorist arrested for DUI

Robert Lee Nathaniel Jr., 32, 14325 S. Wallace Ave., Riverdale, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and stopping, parking or standing in the roadway at 2:20 a.m. May 9 at Ogden Avenue and the Tri-State Tollway. Police observed the suspect asleep at the wheel with his vehicle in drive. He was charged and released to appear in court.

Man gives false ID

Nicholas A. Komater, 30, 1872 S. Millard St., Chicago, was arrested for attempted obstructing identification and trespassing on railroad property at 1 p.m. May 8 at Amita Hinsdale Hospital, 120 N. Oak St. Police were dispatched to a well-being check for a patient who left the hospital against medical advice. He was observed walking on the train tracks near the Highland train station and, when approached, gave false information to police. Police learned the suspect’s identity and discovered outstanding arrest warrants. He was charged and taken to DuPage County Jail for warrant service.

Car burglarized, backpack found

Police located a backpack in the middle of the street in the 700 block of South County Line between midnight and 4:05 a.m. May 11. Medication was found in the backpack belonging to a resident of the 900 block of South County Line Road, who said his car had been rummaged through.

License plate stolen from garage

A license plate from a vehicle the victim no longer owned was stolen from his garage in the 100 block of North Lincoln Street between 4 p.m. March 21 and noon March 26. The victim reported the incident May 8 after receiving notice from the Illinois Tollway for unpaid I-PASS tolls.

Home’s window vandalized

A small hole was reported in a home’s window on the 5700 block of South Grant Street. The damage occurred between 8 a.m. May 1 and 4:30 p.m. May 3. A BB pellet was located on the ground outside the window.

Respirators stolen from hospital

Thirteen respirators, with an estimated value of $20-$25 each, along with several gift bags and tins containing specialty lotions and soaps donated by a community member, were taken between 3:30 p.m. May 1 and 7 a.m. May 6 from a locked office at Amita Health Adventist Medical Center’s Tupper Hall, 119 N. Oak St. There were no signs of forced entry to the office.

Fraud incident reported

A resident of the 900 block of South Thurlow Street was selling his table on Craigslist and was contacted by the suspect, who sent a check in excess of the cost of the table and shipping charges to Houston. The victim deposited the check into his bank account and was instructed to obtain a cashier’s check for the remaining balance, then learned from his bank that the check had bounced. The incident occurred between 8 a.m. May 4 and 2 p.m. May 7.

Criminal trespass

An unknown suspect was seen on private property at 4:05 a.m. May 11 in the 700 block of South Park Avenue. The home’s garage alarm was activated and there was motion activation on the home’s video doorbell. The vehicles were undisturbed.
