Driver arrested on license charge

Laquise B. Thomas, 23, 9656 S. Utica Ave., Evergreen Park, was arrested for driving without a valid license and speeding at 11:39 p.m. May 1 in the 10 block of East 55th Street. He was charged and released to appear in court.

Harassing phone calls, text

Someone made phone calls and sent texts of a threatening and alarming nature to a resident of the 400 block of North Monroe Street sometime before 1:32 a.m. April 29.

Planter stolen from business

A planter worth about $30 was taken from the front of Classic Kids, 28 E. Hinsdale Ave., between noon April 30 and 6;30 a.m. May 1.

Identity thefts reported

• The identity of a resident of the 10 block of South Madison Street was used to open a credit card account and charge about $2,200. The theft was reported at 9:05 a.m. May 1.

• Someone attempted to make a $1,200 fraudulent wire transaction from the bank account of a resident of the 500 block of Phillippa Street at 1:02 p.m. April 29. The victim was able to stop the transaction before the money was transferred.

Possible DUI charge pending

Police were dispatched at 5:34 p.m. April 21 to a report of a driver slumped at the wheel at Ninth and Thurlow streets. The driver was observed to be under the influence and had trouble responding to officers. She was taken to Amita Hinsdale Hospital, where she submitted blood and urine samples. Charges are pending lab results.
