Hinsdale police released the following reports March 11.

Man accused of obstructing an officer

Robert C. La Mantia, 55, 5317 Fairmount Ave., Downers Grove, was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of obstructing an officer and speeding at 1:20 a.m. March 4 in the 700 block of East 55th Street. He failed to comply with police after being stopped for speeding. He was charged and released to appear in court.

DUI arrests

• Robert D. Bruce, 36, 303 Des Plaines Ave., No. 310, Forest Park, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, driving with a blood-alcohol content higher than .08, speeding and driving an uninsured vehicle at 9:50 p.m. March 3 in the 10 block of East Ogden Avenue. He was charged and released to appear in court.

• Arturo Raigosa, 37, 4233 Madison Ave., Brookfield, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, driving with a blood-alcohol content higher than .08 and improper stopping/parking on the road at 4:14 a.m. March 5 at County Line Road and Woodland Avenue. He was charged and released to appear in court.

• John M. Thomas Jr., 51, 9930 S. Parnell Ave., Chicago, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, driving with a blood-alcohol content higher than .08 and driving without a valid license at 10:58 p.m. March 6 at BP, 149 E. Ogden Ave. He was charged and released to appear in court.

Drivers license violation

Elizabeth Fries, 39, 3635 Blanchan Ave., Brookfield, was arrested for driving without a valid license, operating a vehicle while using an electronic communication device and operating an uninsured motor vehicle at 4:15 p.m. March 7 in the 300 block of West Ogden Avenue. She was charged and released to appear in court.

Identity theft reports

• The identity of a resident of the 10 block of East 57th Street was used to rent a 2020 Kia Sorento from an agency in Charlotte, N.C., between Feb. 10 and 12. The car had not been returned to the airport when the victim contacted police on March 3.

• Someone claiming to be from Social Security called a resident of the 10 block of North Washington Street at 11:30 a.m. March 3, told him there was a warrant for his arrest and instructed him to purchase $1,700 in prepaid cards. The victim recognized the scam after giving his Social Security number but before purchasing the cards.

Burglary to vehicles

Someone rummaged through three vehicles in the 5700 block of South Garfield Avenue and one in the 5500 block of Elm Street between 10 p.m. March 3 and 2:15 a.m. March 4. Credit cards and a pair of prescription sunglasses were stolen. There were no signs of forced entry.

Hit and run reported

Someone driving a black SUV hit a car that was backing out of a driveway in the 400 block of West 58th Place and drove away at 8:14 a.m. March 4.
