REDDY TAPPED to serve on STATE medical BOARD

Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker has appointed Dr. Sreenivas Reddy of Hinsdale’s Vein and Vascular Centers to the Illinois State Medical Disciplinary Board.

He is a trustee of the Chicago Medical Society, president of the American Association of Radiologists of Indian Origin and the past president and board chairman of the Indian American Medical Association, Illinois.

Reddy received the Outstanding Leadership Award from U.S. Rep. Danny K Davis in 2018 and was also named the 2017 Distinguished Physician of the Year at Northwestern Medicine Delnor Hospital.

Elm School nominated for Blue Ribbon

Community Consolidated Elementary District 181 has announced that Elm School has been nominated by the Illinois State Board of Education to apply for the esteemed U.S. Department of Education Blue Ribbon Schools Award.

This is the first nomination for Elm School, and Elm is one of only 16 schools out of almost 4,000 nominated in Illinois.

“We celebrate and share this nomination as a school community,” said Principal Sara Olson. “Elm would not be the special place it is without our supportive D181 school board, dedicated administrators, involved families, hard-working teachers and talented students.”

The program recognizes public and private elementary, middle and high schools where students perform at very high levels or where significant improvements are being made in academic achievement. Elm was nominated as an Exemplary High Performing School for students’ outstanding performance on state assessments.

Elm will submit its formal application April 6. The application addresses nearly all aspects of the school, ranging from its mission statement and curriculum practices to after-school activities and parent involvement. The U.S. Department of Education will share award selections in the fall.
